Zellmechanik Dresden GmbH
About Zellmechanik Dresden
As an innovative biotechnology Start-up we are providing next-generation technology in medical diagnostics by developing label-free blood analysis assays. Our products are based on "Real-Time Deformability Cytometry" (RT-CD), a method to determine the mechanical material properties of living cells at unprecedented measurement rates. Mechanical properties of cells are governed by functionally important parts of the cell and therefore allow for direct insights into cellular (dys-)function. They constitute an emerging label-free biomarker for the understanding and evaluation of drug treatment effects, immune cell activation, stem cell differentiation, cancer prognoses, the assessment of state and quality of cultured cells... A break through application made possible by RT-DC is the mechanical hemogram. In contrast to all other methods available today we can analyse the mechanical fingerprint of white blood cells - responsible for the immune response - without the employment of cell purification methods that alter mechanical properties.
