BioTechnikum Greifswald

The Hanseatic City of Greifswald and the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University began planning for an industry-specific technology and start-up center in 1993, long before the bioregio boom began in Germany. The center was opened at the end of 1996 after 1 year of planning and 2 years of construction. The task of the BioTechnikum is the sustainable promotion of economic development in Western Pomerania and Mecklenburg. This is done especially by supporting young companies in biotechnology, biology, biomedicine or bioinformatics.
