Arzneimittelkommission der deutschen Ärzteschaft (AkdÄ)

As it is laid down in the statute the DCGMA receives its tasks from the German Medical Association. The DCGMA provides the medical profession with various and up-to-date information on rational drug therapy and drug safety. The tasks of the DCGMA are listed in the activity report of the German Medical Association. With its Therapeutic Guidelines the DCGMA offers pharmacotherapeutic solutions founded on evidence-based and clinical relevant research results. According to the professional code of conduct of physicians all adverse drug reactions have to be reported to the Drug Commission. Together with the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices the DCGMA runs the "Arzteausschuss Arzneimittelsicherheit" (Medical Committee for Drug Safety) and maintains a joint database for the spontaneous recording of adverse drug reactions. The DCGMA act as participant of the graduated plan according to the German Drugs Act (AMG). The Drug Commission organizes and participates at medical training seminars.
