About Society for Clinical Data Management
The Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM) is a non-profit, international organization of 2,200+ members, created to advance the discipline of Clinical Data Management. SCDM members are charged with promoting quality and excellence in data management and are dedicated to the development, support and advancement of Clinical Data Management professionals. SCDM strives to become the discipline’s world leading advocate. SCDM is organized exclusively for educational purposes. Through collaborations and partnerships, the Society creates a network of professionals driving the industry forward and create new offerings that will support Clinical Data Management professionals, from all horizons and career levels. To fulfil its educational purposes, SCDM offers educational programs – available both in-person and online. The Society also produces some key publications: The award-winning standard Good Clinical Data Management Practices (GCDMP©) The quarterly digital peer-reviewed journal Data Basics and The bi-monthly e-newsletter Data Connections Furthermore, SCDM has created a certification program (CCDM™) to further support the profession. The following priorities were identified by the SCDM Board of Trustees: Evolve the demographic of SCDM’s membership to increase the level of advocacy and influence across industry Increase the positive impact and exposure of SCDM Increase worldwide recognition through interactive relationships with regulatory agencies Increase the value of certification. Members have identified SCDM publications Data Basics and Data Connections as the top benefits of membership. SCDM’s Good Clinical Data Management Practices (GCDMP©) and discounts on conferences and educational programs were also highly ranked. Founded in the United States, SCDM now has a large presence around the world. SCDM’s programs and events are managed by committees and taskforces, populated by volunteer SCDM members and led by a Chair and Co-Chairs. Their goal is to deliver on SCDM key priorities, in close partnership with the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee who set their priorities.
